MATCH REPORT
With just two games to go, life was good for Coleshill! Two 2-1 wins in the previous games against Boldmere St Michaels and Long Eaton probably wouldn't be enough to reach the play offs even if they won both their remaining League games, but there was always the Walsall Senior Cup Final to look forward to. Bedworth had struggled most of the season and really needed a win to ease any posibility of relegation. Coleshill were just not at the races and from the start Bedworth wanted it more than the home team. Coleshill were struggling for a goal keeper due to Tyrese Warmington being on Birmingham City duties, so they brought in young Jack Richards for his debut. It was a baptism of fire as he got peppered with shots with very little protection from his defence. He made one fine save tipping a shot onto the bar and out for a corner. The visitors took the lead on 15 minutes through Louis Monaghan who must like playing at Pack Meadow as he had scored here earlier in the season for Racing Club Warwick. A long throw into the box was helped on by Monaghan but did it cross the line? No one was really sure but the Referee gave the goal. Coleshill managed to equalise on 25 minutes with a penalty from Ben Usher-Shipway, Alex McSkeane taken out by the keeper chasing a back header, but it proved to be just a consolation goal. Bedworth took the lead again just before the break, Monaghan scored again on 84 minutes and poor Jack Richards scored an own goal by helping a long throw into the net on 89 minutes. All in all not Coleshill's day!

Manager Grant Joshua said:
“Not the way we wanted it to be for our last home game, just one of those days. Bedworth caught us on a bad day today, physically and mentally the players weren’t at it today, I knew that in the warm up, the intensity hasn’t been there for us this week and this afternoon. There was a lot riding on it for that Bedworth side, who with the players they have at that football club, I can’t believe they’ve struggled but congratulations to them they were worthy winners on the day. They battered us from the Muggleton long throw today. 3 of the goals coming direct from them which is disappointing but sometimes there’s not a lot you can do when it’s what they play for and I’d do and have done the same with Ben. We’ve had a issue in goal with Ty being unavailable and fair play to Jacko who came to help us out late in the day but I’m guessing he’s never seen a throw like that in his life and they punished us from it. We’ve had a good spell at the start of the second half and knocked on the door and if not for their keeper being unbeatable in that period we would have got level and I would have fancied us going into the final half hour but it wasn’t meant to be today and we fell below our level and Bedworth reached theirs. I can’t blame the boys too much for today because not many have put 4 past us but with nothing on the game I did think that this performance and result was coming. It Doesn’t make it acceptable but I understand the factors around it. We have three more points left to fight for on Monday against Lye Town and I fully expect a reaction and personal pride to kick in and be wounded from a loss. On a separate note, I’d like to thank all of the supporters/committee members and directors their positive and incredible support all season, it hasn’t gone unnoticed and I hope the team this season resembled what type of football team you expect at Coleshill. It hasn’t been all plane sailing but it’s been largely an enjoyable season with these players and the club”.
