Arlott Signs Off On A High

Shepshed Dynamo ended their return to step four football with a win over Coleshill Town. The first half neither keepers were tested and the closest early on was George Washbourne which just went over the head of Amarvir Sandhu. Shepshed took the lead after 33 minutes. Dempsey Arlott-John latched onto a ball over the top, jinked in and out of two defenders beating Paul Hathaway's legs on the goal line. The second half followed suit. Hathaway punching off the head of Melbourne. After 64 minutes Hathaway made a good save from King and seven minutes later Washbourne (It was Tonge) had Town's best chance, heading wide.

Shepshed Dynamo completed the season with a 1-0 win over Coleshill Town in the Pitching in Northern Premier League Midlands Division at The Dovecote Stadium.
The result sees Dynamo end the season with a four game unbeaten run and finishing eleventh overall in the table.
The only goal of the game was scored by Dempsey Arlott-John on thirty three minutes.

Shepshed had the first chance of the game on five minutes James Snedden fired over. A minute later after a foul on Arlott-John, Snedden's free kick went straight into Paul Hathaway.

Coleshill's first chance came on eight minutes George Washbourne mis-queuing his effort.

Coleshill were having more of the play Kia Tonge wide on sixteen minutes and two minutes later Washbourne's cross was just beyond the head of former Shepshed player Amivar Sandhu.

Niall Rowe did well to deflect a header back from Harper's ball on nineteen minutes.

Arlott-John was a constant danger with Rowe doing well to deny him a clear route on goal on twenty two minutes.

Washbourne then fired wide for the visitors on twenty five minutes.

Shepshed took the lead on thirty three minutes Arlott-John latched onto a ball over the top jinked in and out of two defenders and beat Hathaway and the forlorn outstretched defender on the goal line.

On thirty six minutes John King's corner was headed back across the box by Jake Betts but Town managed to clear.

Tonge threatened on thirty seven minutes cutting in on the right hand side but ran the ball out of play.

Hathaway pulled off a good save from Arlott-John after a good ball through from Reece Morris on forty one minutes as Dynamo led at the break.

The first chance of the second half fell to Shepshed good work down the right between Jahdahn Harper and Morris with Hathaway punching off the head of Matt Melbourne on forty seven minutes.

Melbourne went close again on fifty eight minutes heading King's corner wide.

Jordan Smith then did well to block Gio Dainty's effort a minute later.

Dainty then crossed into Brandon Ganley on sixty two minutes and Ganley
raced out of his area to deny Alex Tomkinson.

King nearly doubled Shepshed's lead on sixty four minutes forcing a great save from Hathaway.

Coleshill's best chance of the game came on seventy one minutes Washbourne in front of goal heading wide.

King then put the ball to the far post on seventy four minutes, Morris pulled it back but Arlott-John was unable to bring his shot under control. A minute later King's curled effort went wide.

Fraser Doyle then fired over from the edge of the box on seventy six minutes.

There was only two further chances in the game as the match turned scrappy and sometimes unnecessarily ill tempered.

Substitute Jack Macmillan firing wide on seventy eight minutes and into Hathaway in the last minute.

A perfect end to a season which Shepshed have excelled beyond expectations, finishing eleventh in the table with a four game unbeaten run and finishing above local rivals Loughborough Dynamo.
