COLESHILL HERALD WROTE
Five Star Coleshill Make It Six Wins In Succession

George Washbourne scored a hat-trick as Coleshill made it six wins on the spin and four in the league with this emphatic win. Boss Cameron Stuart described it as the "biggest win of the season." "We played really, really well and it was a great display from start to finish," said Stuart. "it was one of those games where everyone did well - it was a good all-round display with 8/10 performances all round. I think, on the back of the past few weeks, this was a big result for us. I'd go as far to say it was our biggest result of the season on the back of what we have achieved recently." After Lewis Rankin was denied by Didcot keeper Leigh Bedwell, Coleshill went ahead on 15 minutes. Amarvir Sandhu's long clearance put Washbourne in and he fired low into the net. Sandhu was the creator of his side's second goal on 21 minutes, finding Nehemia Zazi, who superbly finished with his left foot into the far corner. It was game over before the hour mark as Washbourne drove forward under no pressure and fizzed a left footed shot from 25 yards beyond Bedwell and in off the bar. Didcot did rally late on and Ollie Thomas scored a penalty but a Washbourne spot-kick at the other end made it 4-1 as he sent the keeper the wrong way to complete his hat-trick. Ethan Mannion then notched a 91st minute fifth goal for Coleshill to put a more realistic look to the scoreline.
"We Can't Rest On Laurels" Warns Delighted Stuart
Cameron Stuart has urged his Coleshill Town players not to "rest on their laurels" after a dramatic turnaround in their fortunes. The Colemen have won four Southern One Central games in a row and six matches in total to storm into the league's top ten. They are now two points off the play-offs ahead of a trip to Yaxley this Saturday. "I'm delighted with what the lads have done recently," said boss Stuart. "We always felt that if we could string three or four wins together it would make a big difference in terms of the league. The spirit in the group now is fantastic which is, I suppose, inevitable when you are winning games. A few of the lads have turned a massive corner over the past few weeks. There were a few who were not in their usual good form but they have turned it around and come out the other side. Everyone is really positive but it's important that, although we are enjoying a good run of results, we don't rest on our laurels. There were times last season where we would win three or four on the bounce and then suffer a horrendous result. We want to make sure that doesn't happen this season." Looking ahead to this Saturday's trip to Yaxley, who are 14th in the table, Stuart added: "They were a bogey side for us last season and that's something we would like to put right. Hopefully we can maintain our standards. The lads have shown the right attitude. When we are in the ascendancy in games at the minute we are scoring goals. If we can keep playing at the tempo we have been and keep the work rate up, hopefully more positive results will follow."

COLESHILL POST WROTE
Rested and back to their best Coleshill hit FIVE against a poor Didcot side, a shadow of the side that almost made the play-offs last season. Star man was George Washbourne with a fine hat trick but he was assisted by goals from Lewis Rankin and Ethan Mannion in a true team performance and a Sixth win in a row.

Didcot hit for a bunch of fives at Coleshill

Heavy rain and a heavy defeat for struggling Railwaymen

Didcot town's season took another turn for the worst on Saturday afternoon with a heavy 5-1 defeat at in form Coleshill town on a day the Railwaymen would like to forget in a hurry.
Persistent heavy rain and road closures meant a pretty miserable journey to the midlands for Didcot and their loyal supporters and Coleshill's George Washbourne was about to make the day a thoroughly depressing day for anyone of a Didcot persuasion. Didcot lined up with 1 change from the side that had lost at Chesham as Seth Humphries was unavailable so Kieran Collins came into the midfield with Mark Bell returning to the bench.
Coleshill had been in decent form of late and with the rain persistently falling on the Pack Meadow 4G surface the hosts set about taking apart their confidence shy visitors. Some early pressure and corner kicks looked to do the trick but Didcot just about held out. Coleshill were dominating the midfield area with slick passing leaving Didcot chasing early shadows. Zazi was causing issues for Didcot and his direct run down the left hand side was cut back towards Lewis Rankin whose first time left footed shot was superbly saved by Leigh Bedwell to his left but the opening goal seemed inevitable.
Coleshill didn't have to wait too much longer however as on 21 minutes they cleared a rare Didcot attack and somehow Amarvir Sandhu's long clearance had left Washbourne 1 v 1 with Joe Green, the winger had too much for the isolated defender twisting and turning his way into the box and firing low into the net to give Coleshill the lead they deserved.
George Nash looked to be struggling with an injury quite probably related to the one he's just returning back from and it was his inability to challenge sufficiently on the half way line which enabled Coleshill the chance to first win the ball and speed away from the hampered Didcot man, Sandhu this time finding Nehemiah Zazi and the home striker superbly finished with his left foot into the far corner and Didcot had a mountain to climb yet again this season.
Still Coleshill poured forward with Rankin going close with a low shot before another breakaway from a Didcot move forced Bedwell into a more comfortable save but the writing was on the wall for Didcot, the visitors were creating nothing and every time Coleshill went forward they looked likely to add to their tally. After 40 minutes the Didcot bench had seen enough as the injured Nash and Gilmore made way for Bell and Isaac as Didcot changed shape slightly. Bell immediately gave Didcot some more attacking threat and his combination with Reid looked to bear some fruit but the closest Didcot came to any kind of meaningful effort was a Green header that harmlessly went over.
Half time. Coleshill 2-0 Didcot
If there was any saving grace for Didcot it's that the game wasn't over at half time and Didcot immediately started the second half on the front foot with a crisp move that Coleshill defended well. It did show the Railwaymen's intent and kept Coleshill back for the first time in the contest, almost inevitably however on 51 minutes the game was over. Didcot gave the ball away to Washbourne who drove forward under no pressure and as Didcot retreated daring him to shoot he took on the challenge and fizzed a left footed shot from 25 yards beyond Bedwell and in off the crossbar for a stunning 3rd goal.
Shortly after Bell tricked his way infield before shooting narrowly wide before McNeill had a headed chance that forced Hathaway into his first save of any kind in the game, a flurry of corners followed which Green again headed a tough chance over the bar as Didcot at least tried to rally.
As we went into the final 10 minutes of the game Didcot got the chance of a consolation when Isaac was tripped in the box allowing Ollie Thomas to score a penalty for the second game in a row to give Diddy some really faint hope, that hope was extinguished 30 seconds later as from kick off a poor headed back pass left Bedwell short and he could only bring down a Coleshill attacker (Antonio) for a penalty at the other end.
Washbourne sent the Didcot keeper the wrong way to complete his hat trick and make sure of the points before Ethan Mannion notched a 91st minute 5th goal for Coleshill to put a more realistic look to the scoreline. Didcot had been completely outplayed, out fought and spent most of the game chasing after the much superior home side. It's 6 league defeats on the trot for the now 3rd bottom Railwaymen who need to snap out of their bad form quickly and they'll be looking to do so on Tuesday as they travel to Flackwell Heath in the Berks and Bucks Cup before hosting Biggleswade in the league on Saturday.
Full time. Coleshill 5-1 Didcot
