THE NON-LEAGUE PAPER WROTE
Luke Keen scored four goals as Coleshill Town dispatched Wantage Town 6-0 at Alfredian Park, leaving the Fred’s rooted to the bottom of the table with no wins after nine games having conceded 43 goals. Keen opened the scoring with a penalty after 14 minutes to break Coleshill’s 526-minute goal drought and he made sure fans wouldn’t have to wait nearly as long to see another. He scored in the 35th minute and completed his hat trick seven minutes later. Keen got his fourth three minutes into the second half as he slid home from close range. Liam Molesworth and Lewis Rankin were the other scorers as Coleshill got back to winning ways. The Fred’s remain rooted to the bottom of the table with no wins and the writing seems to be on the wall already despite it being only October.

COLESHILL POST WROTE
As early as October this was a crunch game against bottom of the table Wantage. Coleshill took the lead through a Luke Keen penalty on 14 minutes and that settled the nerves. Keen went on to score three more, Liam Molesworth chipped in with a penalty and Lewis Rankin scored his first goal for Coleshill.

MATCH REPORT
A crunch game for both sides as the league table showed them in the bottom three. Wantage had lost all of their previous eight games and Coleshill had won just one and drawn one of their seven games.

Coleshill hadn’t been playing badly but a combination of bad luck, a lack of confidence and over 500 minutes without a goal meant they were closer to the bottom than they would like.

The grass on the flat pitch was a bit long but the weather was perfect for a good contest. There was an even start but Coleshill quickly gained the upper hand and when Luke Keen hit the post from a George Washbourne corner the visitors thought it was going to be another one of those days but the mood lifted on 14 minutes when Amarvir Sandhu beat the keeper to a long through and was clattered to the floor, penalty. Luke Keen calmly stroked the ball home sending the keeper the wrong way. 526 minutes since they last scored. Like buses a second goal almost came along immediately as a shot from George Washbourne was well saved by keeper McCready and Edilson Panzo-Antonio was on hand to head into the net but with the off side flag up the effort was disallowed. A slight scare followed when a cross from Hartley came off the shin of Keenen Meakin-Richards but went straight into Town keeper Paul Hathaway’s hands but this was about as busy as the stopper got all afternoon. Liam Molesworth’s fine run got him to the bye line and he picked out Antonio at the far post but another great save by McCready denied Eddie’s header. From a Glover free kick Drammeh had a shot blocked by Gio Dainty but on 35 minutes the Colemen deservedly increased their lead all be it a bit fortunately, was their luck changing? George Washbourne beat several players down the right side and when his cross came into the near post both keeper McCready and Luke Keen tussled for the ball which ended up over the line. It was three just before the break and again it was with a bit of help from the referee which had not happened so far this season. Roberts went down with a head injury with Coleshill in the ascendancy on the edge of the box. The official rightly stopped play but when a restart back to the defending side was expected he gave a 50-50 bounce ball which Luke Keen won turned on to his right foot and sent a beauty bending shot into the corner of the net. Three for Coleshill and three for Keen but it could have been four as Luke Keen volleyed well over the bar from a Josh Webb cross.
Half Time: Wantage 0 Coleshill 3.

Keen didn’t have to wait long for his next goal as Edilson Panzo-Antonio set off on a run from the half way line and pulled the ball back to Keen on the 6 yard line and swept the ball home. Understandably the game drifted a bit in the second half with the home side never looking likely to get back into the game. Eddie has the ball in the net again as a Lewis Rankin free kick was saved but came out to Antonio to finish but again he was off side. 16 volleyed a cross goalward but it still didn’t bother Hathaway as the effort was blocked at source. On 86 minutes Gio Dainty was bundled to the ground in the box and with Luke Keen now off the pitch it was left to Liam Molesworth who calmly dinked the ball over the diving keeper into the net. And in the last minute substitutes Ethan Mannion and Lewis Rankin combined for number six. Mannion chase a lost cause found Rankin on the edge of the box and a left foot bending shot found the corner of the net.
