MATCH REPORT

The first action saw Berkhamstead play a ball over Coleshill’s defence but Paul Hathaway came out to head clear. Coleshill then attack but again the keeper cleared the danger. Berkhamstead then had several attacks but Coleshill defend well. Then on 9 minutes a bad tackle saw Godfrey booked for Berkhamstead. On 20 mins a ball through the middle of Coleshill’s defence saw Josh Webb bring the forward down from behind and a penalty is given. Up stepped centre forward Bateman but his kick is easily saved by Paul Hathaway diving low to his right. 5 minutes later Coleshill take the lead as man of the match Reece Leek picked the ball up in his own half and ran down the right wing beating 2 defenders he cut inside only to see his shot parried by the keeper however he reacts first to the loose ball and side footed into an empty net 1-0 Coleshill.
Berkhamstead go on the attack and it only takes a couple of mins for them to draw level as Coleshill head the ball clear it falls to Godfrey 25 yards out and his miss hit volley goes over Paul Hathaway 1-1. Coleshill then have chance as a Reece Leek cross finds Jordan Nadat but his effort is wide. Then with only a couple of mins to halftime Berkhamstead attack down right the cross is deflected to Bateman at the far post his header is saved by Paul Hathaway at the foot of the post but the assistant ref flags for a goal and the half ends 1-2.

Coleshill go on the attack in the second half but the first chance is headed over, then both sides have chances and the deadlock is broken when Reece Leek again runs past his marker down the right wing, cuts inside and saw his cross shot hit the far post and the assistant ref again flags to indicate the ball had crossed the line 2-2. Coleshill are now on top and a good ball by Liam Molesworth finds Jordan Nadat inside the area but a defender just gets in a tackle to stop a shot. Then Reece Leek crossed to Jordan Nadat but his shot is saved by the keeper with his foot.
Berkhamstead are not out the game and have several chances themselves, one shot goes over the bar and in the last minute Bateman has a chance to win the game but his shot is saved by Paul Hathaway.
Overall a draw is a fair result with both defences hard to breakdown.

Mayor Tony Phillip Battle officially opened the new seating area in the main stand.
