REPORT
Since the narrow home defeat to championship contenders Peterborough Sports in October, Coleshill have gone on a seven game unbeaten run and confidence was high following the derby win over Sutton Coldfield last week. A play off place was now in their sights and a win over mid table Barton Rovers would have pushed the Colemen into the top five. Danny Tymon bagged the Coleshill equaliser after they had trailed at half time. Barton had the ball in the net but the referee ruled the effort out due to a high foot from an over head kick. Rovers also threatened when Paul Hathaway saved well from Jimmy Hartley while Coleshill's best effort in an open, entertaining first period came from Stuart Hendrie who was denied by the upright. Barton struck five minutes before the break when Steph Bailey steered home a shot from 25 yards into the bottom corner. But the lead lasted just six minutes into the second half when they were undone by an excellent passing move, Tymon starting and finishing things when he headed in Liam Molesworth's cross. The provider almost added his name to the scoresheet with a lob from 25 yards that sailed high while at the other end, Hathaway saved from Bailey before Sydney Ibie was just off target. The point maintained Town's unbeaten run and was a fair result in a high tempo, hotly contested game that saw the visitors work their socks off.
