COLESHILL GAZETTE WROTE
Coleshill Town F.C.

Coleshill Town FC are having a great season and are currently second in the Premier Division of the Midland Combination, they are two points behind Studley, with two games in hand, so they will be pushing to close that gap and finish the season as League Champions. After winning the Walsall Senior Cup last season, the continued progress of the team this season has been very exciting. 1983/84 has seen the club competing in the F.A. Cup for the first time in its history and the aim is to improve both club facilities and team performances so that Coleshill can have its football club competing in a higher grade of football. With your support the potential is here. So if you want an entertaining Saturday afternoon where you can bring the children to watch, in safety, free from hooligans, a good game of soccer and at the same time give your local side the support it deserves, you will find a warm welcome at "Pack Meadow", Packington Lane. Refreshments are available during the game and the Club House and bar are open to members after the match.

Coleshill Go Closer

Two second half goals kept Coleshill firmly on course for the Midland Combination Premier Division Championship. Coleshill, voted BRMB team of the month, missed three early opportunities to take the lead when Duddy and Mathews combined well and Rosborough's header scraped the crossbar. Ashman saw his header flash wide and then Mathews headed over the bar from Clarke's cross as Coleshill dominated the play. But on the hour, the pressure finally brought a reward when Ashman rounded off some good work from Nicholas and Jenkins. Further chances fell to Ashman and Polack, but the later finally sealed the victory ten minutes from time with a diving header from Jenkins' cross.
