STRATFORD UPON AVON HERALD WROTE
Elusive Chances

Stratford's disappointing run continued on Saturday, although on the basis of their second half performance they could feel unlucky not to have had at least a share of the points. During the first half Stratford were creating the better opportunities but the clear cut chance they needed eluded them. The final ball into the penalty area was always to slow and although some of the build up moves were good, it allowed Coleshill's defence time to regroup and clear the danger. Town were caught on the break just before half time when Coleshill went ahead in the 44th minute. They worked the ball into the penalty area and got to the bye line before a hard, low cross was stabbed home from close range. In the second half Stratford showed more urgency and began to put Coleshill's defence under pressure. They had a good chance to equalise on the hour when a Ulyatt header scraped past the post. This signalled the start of a fine attacking period by Town and they fought desperately to get back on terms. Jim Whitehouse got up well on two occasions but his headers were just to high. With ten minutes left a good move down the right ended with a cross to the far post. Mathews and Whitehouse both challenged for the cross but Whitehouse's well directed header hit a retreating defender and somehow bounced off him and over the bar. If Town can keep battling like this then a good victory is only just around the corner.
