THE SPORTS ARGUS WROTE
Chipping Norton still sit confidently on top, to date they have only lost one league match with five others drawn, this time it was Coleshill Town who took a point from them, goals would not come for either side and a draw was a fair reflection on the way the match was played. Manager Colin Holder had a shock when he found that he had to name himself as sub but thankfully for him and his team, he was not required to take the field.

COLESHILL TOWN PROGRAMME WROTE
Manager Colin Holder, already without five first team regulars, was dealt another blow ten minutes before the coach left for this away fixture when Tony Hanson had to go to hospital after an accident at work which meant he was unavailable. This left Coleshill with the bare eleven players and necessitated in the manager naming himself as substitute. Coleshill put on a tremendous display and could easily have taken both points when chances by Tipton, Barrows and Calvert went begging. Mark Hollins had an outstanding game in goal and made two marvellous saves from bad back passes to keep the Colemen in the match. The substitute started warming up with about 20 minutes to go and this seemed to spur the players on to play even better. An unknown player remarked after the game “the thought of our manager coming on made us raise our game to keep him off the field.”

NEW PLAYERS
Since Xmas Colin Holder has signed Mark Bishop From Paget Rangers, Keith Shrimpton from Walsall Sportsco and Tony Hanson has made a welcome return from Tamworth. Reserve team Manager Keith Fielding has also made some useful signings notably Steve Turner from Wythall, Steve Collins and Phil Hemming from Chelmsley Wood.

CLUB NEWS
The Club has applied to join the new Super League of the Midland Combination next season and hopefully we will be accepted but we desperately need your support so why not bring a friend along the next time you visit Pack Meadow.
N.B. This must be when Mid Com Division One became the Premier Division, although it didn't happen until the 1983/84 season.

INJURIES
The injuries are slowly clearing up but Bob Dyer, bruised head, Barry Canning, ligaments, Calvin Reid, strained groin and Gary Jones, badly bruised ankle, could all still be out of action for at least another week. Phil Davies is still not available for selection due to business commitments and Roy Rencher who had a cartilege operation before Xmas may well have to return to hospital for further surgery.

PLAYER SPOTLIGHTS
There are Player Spotlights in the Coleshill v Mile Oak programme, 20.02.1982, for John Gardner and Nigel Barrows.
