SOLIHULL NEWS WROTE
Knowle beat Coleshill Town 4-1 at Coleshill and that means Coleshill may soon be looking for a new manager. Knowle won as convincingly as the scoreline suggests in the end, but it took a two goal burst early in the second half to put some purpose into their game. Coleshill caught Knowle with their offside trap again and again, and with the wind in their favour should have had a better run in the first half. Knowle gained possession after the interval, and Edwards scored, for Donnelly to equalise, Gardner and Speake added the second and third, before Bayliss wound up hitting a worthy goal just inside the far upright.

CHELMSLEY NEWS WROTE
Coleshill Go Down Again

Coleshill Town, who have picked up only one Midland Combination First Division point this season tumbled again last Saturday, going down 4-1 at home to Knowle. As in so many matches Coleshill were well in the hunt during the first half and hopes were high of at least a share of the spoils during a goalless period. Confidence was even higher, early in the second half, when John Edwards shot Coleshill in front, but within two minutes Knowle drew level from a set piece and everything started to go wrong for poor Coleshill. An injury to Steve Howes forced him to give way to substitute Chris Davies and Coleshill found themselves trailing as from another free kick the visitors took full advantage of slack marking to make it 2-1. Dejected, the Coleshill players succumbed and Knowle took full advantage of a penalty to increase their lead. Newcomer Martin Colder did try to get Coleshill moving forward, but another defensive blunder let in Knowle for their fourth goal near the end. This Saturday Coleshill have a Midland Combination home game against reigning champions Bridgnorth Town and points are now becoming vital if they are to survive in the First Division. Coleshill’s manager Mel Strong, who has had to build a new team this season said this week: “While I think the scoreline flattered Knowle, it was a poor second half display by us. Heads dropped and for the first time this season there was a lack of fight. It was all so disappointing because we played well in the first half and did enough to have got a result. I thought Martin Colder played well at centre forward, but we have certainly got to stop making these defensive mistakes.”
