SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
In a game in which Whipps and Hopkins were both carried off within the first 28 minutes, Walsall Wood cynically prevented Coleshill from playing. Coleshill tried to maintain their composure and had the best chances. Hornby, Silvester and Jones had to thank the Referee's benevolence for allowing them to complete the game.

SPORTS ARGUS WROTE
Coleshill Town had to use both substitutes in the first 15 minutes of the game after two cynical challenges by Walsall Wood defenders. The depleted Coleshill Town failed to take advantage of poor defending by the visitors when Bradley's free-kick was dropped by Harrison. After 23 minutes Bailey missed the easiest chance of the half after good work on the left from Rosborough and Bradley. Walsall Wood seemed content during the first half on doing nothing bar destroying Coleshill Town's advantage with over-robust challengers. Only the Referee seemed to find nothing wrong with this type of football.
Half Time: Coleshill 0 v 0 Walsall Wood.
