SPORTS ARGUS WROTE
Boldmere pressed forward from the start and Webber got in a good cross which Wilding punched out to Simmons who quickly found Gonzales and he in turn passed to Casey whose shot was blocked. Byrne was the main source of Coleshill's spasmodic raids and his cross enabled Bailey to shoot on the turn but over the top. Boldmere's best chance was created by Sullivan and he put Dean clear of the Coleshill defence but Wilding made a good save at the expense of a corner.
Half Time Boldmere 0 v 0 Coleshill.

SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
Boldmere had most of the play and Casey had a shot blocked by the Coleshill defence in the fourth minute. Byrne created most of the danger for Coleshill and from one of his crosses Bailey shot over the top. Wilding stopped Boldmere going in front after 38 minutes when he turned Dean's effort around the post. Coleshill went ahead against the run of play in the 61st minute when Rosborough picked up a loose ball 30 yards out and hit a looping shot over Whitehouse. This spurred Boldmere to press forward and the equaliser came after 72 minutes, Sullivan picked up the ball in his own area and released Stewart wide on the right. The ball was moved on to Casey and his cross was slid home by Dean.

Deadly Deano Rescues Mikes

Mikes should have taken all the points from this game after late pressure had seen them almost grab a winner. The home side started slowly and middle of the table Coleshill could have taken an early lead, nut Steve Tycer stepped in to clear the danger. This spurred Boldmere into action and an Andrew Gonzales cross caused trouble for keeper Wilding, but in the scramble no home forward could get a toe to the lose ball, and a good chance went begging. Minutes later, a move of the highest class saw Neil Holloway pick out Lee Sullivan with a delightful ball, who in turn put Martin Dean through, but his shot was well saved by Wilding. On 25 minutes Mikes should have taken the lead. A fine run by Chris Webber broke the visitors line of defence but his shot again found the keeper. Coleshill bounced back and only good defending by Holloway and poor finishing by the visitors kept the game goalless. With half time approaching, Dean was again guilty of a missed chance as he shot tamely at the keeper. After the break, the visitors came more into the game and on 61 minutes took the lead. Bailey ran unchallenged and hit a screamer from 30 yards that left Whitehouse helpless. Ten minutes later the teams were level again after a move that stretched the length of the pitch. Holloway found Sullivan who picked out Gonzales and a cross from Paul Casey fell to Dean who volleyed home from close range. Mikes tried to force a winner and Ian Stewart, Casey and Gonzales all went close, but Mikes had to settle for a draw.
