SPORTS ARGUS WROTE
The Police dominated the first half with Graham Hussey scoring their first goal after only four minutes. A few chances at goal were created by Coleshill and they were unlucky not to have scored.

SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
Graham Hussey set the West Midlands Police on the way to an opening day win. The striker netted after four minutes and, although the Police dominated the first half, Coleshill defended well. The home side were unlucky not to equalise but the Police wrapped up the points in the last minute when Dave Scriven converted Sean Small's cross.


* Despite improvements over his three years in charge, 8th, 12th 7th, Brian Jordan was replaced over the summer by duo Bob Nimmons and Roy Dollaway who stepped up from managing the Reserves the previous season.
