SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
Coleshill cruised to a 5-3 victory over Southam United. Paul Charnley picked up two early goals for the hosts following team mate Peter Kirkham's opener. Paul Mountney then put Coleshill 4-0 up from a corner before John Ingram led a comeback for the visitors. Jamie Cramp added another from the penalty spot and Andrew Hodgkinson narrowed it to 4-3. Justin Wiseman then sealed victory for Coleshill late on.

SPORTS ARGUS WROTE
Coleshill Town hope midfielder Matt Haywood will be successful in an appeal against a 35 day ban - thanks to the Referee who sent him off. Haywood was given the five week suspension after being shown a red card in Sunday football. But the severity of the sentence shocked the official who had dismissed Haywood and he will back Coleshill's appeal to the Birmingham County FA. Coleshill boss Martin Sockett said "It's a nice gesture from the ref. Normally refs defend their corner but in this instance he is defending the player. We might have expected a three week automatic ban for the sending off but the ref agrees with us that 35 days is a bit harsh."
