Super Squad Are Ready To Sockett To 'Em

Coleshill Town boss Martin Sockett not only reckons he has a team good enough to win the Premier Division, he believes he has TWO. Now in his third season at Pack Meadow, Coleshill have 22 players signed on to date. And the former Bedworth United boss said that the squad was good enough to be split into two teams - each capable of holding their own at the top of the table. And with several players insistent on getting their names on the scoring sheets this season, Sockett reckons that few sides will now get much change from them. leading the charts is 33 year old Mark Charnley with 13 goals in 15 matches, while brother Paul hit eight in nine games before being sidelined through injury. Paul Johnson, a recent recruit from Coventry Sphinx, has hit five goals in his first five games while Loz Cairns, now back from injury, has struck four in four matches. Sockett said "We had a glitch in October when we lost a couple of games and Bolehall Swifts went top while we had eight players out, but they are now coming back and competing for places - a nice position to be in. When everyone is fully fit we could put two equally good sides out. We are attracting such quality players because we have progressed since I took over, finishing third last year. We have had a deluge of seven day notices of approach from clubs because we are being successful, but only one player, Ricky Smith, who went to Bedworth, has left."
