SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
Two Off As Skipper Leads Coleshill To Victory

Coleshill Town were back to winning ways after beating nine man Knowle at Pack Meadow. The return of club captain Gary Shaw inspired an impressive display and new signing Paul John was instrumental in Andy Taylor's 22nd minute opener. In the second half a corner ball saw Des Sievwright's effort secured by Mark Charnley to double. Over zealous Knowle then lost red carded Mark Shaw for dissent and Paul Frost later followed suit. Johnson's debut goal for Coleshill secured the points in the 90th minute.

SOLIHULL NEWS WROTE
Robins Reduced To Nine In Top Of The Table Farce

This top-of-the-table tussle promised much but some bizarre decision by the referee, who booked seven Robins players and sent two off, meant it was never a contest on a level playing field. However, Coleshill deserved victory as they adapted better to the heavy surface and were always in control except for the final 20 minutes of the first half. It was no surprise when Knowle went behind after 15 minutes, Rob Sweeney’s delightfully weighted ball caught Knowle’s defence square, allowing Andy Taylor to score. When Knowle moved wing back Mark Robinson to the opposite flank, they began to dominate and Andy Williams and Mark Robinson were only thwarted by fine saves from keeper Craig Glover. On the hour, the Knowle defence only partially cleared a corner and Des Seivwright was on hand to fire past Mark Chapman. On the final whistle, with the Robins searching for a consolation goal, Paul John was able to complete a counter-attack by tapping home the final nail in Knowle’s coffin.
