Sockett's Praise After Single Goal Settles It

Coleshill created enough goalscoring chances to run away with an emphatic victory when they travelled to Massey Ferguson and yet they only managed to beat the Coventry side by a single goal. But, instead of being furious at his team for squandering opportunities, Manager Martin Sockett's had only praise for his men. He said; "At the end of the day it is the result which counts and we walked away with three points. Massey's manager came up to me at the end to congratulate the way the lads played. He admitted we dominated from beginning to end, never allowed his team a shot on our goal. OK, I'm a little disappointed we didn't put our chances away but Lady Luck was certainly on their side as many of our shots either hit the woodwork or were saved by their keeper who played a blinder." It was a well worked set piece which broke the deadlock, Ricky Smith's corner leading to Pat Dunworth's cracking volley.
