SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
Coleshill Town were able to enjoy a home win, seeing off Quorn 3-1 with the goals coming from Tom Weale, Reece Leek and Demitrius Smikle.

REPORT
Coleshill managed to overcome a Quorn side that took the lead with less than a minute on the clock but the points were not safe until two minutes from time when Demitrius Smikle scored Town's third.
Meade waltzed through the Town defence and hit a rasping shot into the roof of the net on 46 seconds and it could have been a whole lot worse as Coleshill started poorly. Luke Edwards blocked a goal bound effort by Oshungbure, ex-Coleshill player Jacob Wright hit a curling shot just wide and Meade hit the side netting, all before the Colemen slowly got a foothold in the game. On the half hour mark Josh Quaynor, Dean Rathbone and Mykle Beckley all combined well down the left flank, the ball finally finding the on-rushing Tom Weale who bent the ball round the visitors keeper Thacker for the equaliser. Three minutes later and Town were in front when a fabulous cross-field ball by Weale split the Quorn defence open and Reece Leek powered a shot across Thacker and into the far corner of the net.
Coleshill played better in the second half without reaching the high standards they have set themselves this season but Quorn played their part and at times looked the more likely to score the next goal. Sam Adkins hit a left foot volley just wide. Luke Edwards chested a ball back for his keeper but Turner nipped in and was unlucky to see his shot saved by Paul Hathaway. Brookes had a header deflected for a corner, Wright shot inches wide after a sweeping move. Weale saw a powerful shot saved by Thacker's feet, Hathaway could only parry a shot by Oshungbure and Turner turned a cross by Lever the wrong side of the post before substitute Simeon Cobourne ran half the length of the field but dragged his shot wide of goal. On 88 minutes Reece Leek went on a run from just inside his own half and when he reached the 18 yard line he set up Demitrius Smikle who hit a great strike across the keeper for 3-1.
Not a vintage performance but a win keeps Town in the top ten with 16 league games still to go and a League Cup Quarter Final tie against Walsall Wood to come!
