SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
There was disappointment for Coleshill Town when an early Gio Dainty goal wasn't enough to stop them going down 3-1 at basement club Loughborough University.

MATCH REPORT
Having had time to think about it, Coleshill's FA Cup win on Tuesday night, against higher league opposition, was very, very impressive. It was Town who looked as though they played a league higher than their opponents and they could have won by more than the comfortable 3-1.

Now to today's game, what a difference! Was this the same team? What a poor performance! A capitulation to a team who didn't have a single point on the board before this game!

Maybe the players thought that they were so good that all they had to do was turn up and they would win! This looked a possibility after just one minute and fifty three seconds, it said so on the "Electronic Scoreboard", when Chris Cowley's free kick was headed on by Luke Barlone, parried by home keeper O'Keefe and forced home by Giovanni Dainty! Coleshill were lucky to maintain the lead when Alun Webb went down in the box under the challenge of Will Worthington. It looked like a penalty but one was not given. Luke Barlone saw a chip cleared off the line and a Dean Rathbone shot was deflected over the bar but the home side equalised on 38 minutes with another gift of a goal by the Town defence. Under no pressure Will Worthington rolled the ball back to his keeper but put it nicely into the path of Webb who confidently slotted past Paul Hathaway in the Coleshill goal.

Luke Edwards had a volley cleared off the line and when Rob Evans and Luke Barlone went down in the box a penalty was expected but only a yellow card for diving was given. The home team had a spring in their step and deservedly took the lead on 51 minutes. Bridge did well to get to the bye line and cross but Herbert did even better and his cross found Ben Ward-Cochrane who had the easy task of shooting home. Webb got to the opposite bye line and crossed for Ward-Cochrane but his diving header went just past the post. On 64 minutes Leon Weller and keeper Hathaway both hesitated and Herbert nipped in between and although his effort was cleared it fell nicely for Ward-Cochrane who found the back of the net despite Worthington's presence on the line. It could have been worse but Worthington's tackle on Webb saved another goal being conceded and Rob Evans almost scored an own goal! Simeon Cobourne did get the ball in the net but was given off side which looked harsh! Nathan Lewars made a late charge into the box but a great tackle by Brennan prevented a consolation goal!
