COLESHILL HERALD WROTE
Coleshill failed to make their territorial advantage count as they slipped to an unlucky defeat against fellow high-fliers Feckenham. Colin Strong’s men paid the price for making a slow start to the game, which saw the hosts opening the scoring after only three minutes through Brian Powell while the Coleshill defence were appealing for a foul. Feckenham were in a determined mood and it took two exceptional saved from Greg Allen to prevent them from extending their lead. However, as the half progressed, Coleshill slowly started to get their game together and put the hosts under concerted pressure. Mitchell Thompson twice went close, hitting the post with one effort before seeing his header saved at close range. Duwayan Mardenborough also saw a goalbound effort deflected wide by Ben Usher. Coleshill’s domination continued after the break, with outstanding midfielders Simon Chatwin and Lee McCarthy driving them forward at every opportunity. Chatwin’s 35 yard volley had the home keeper at full stretch and substitute Dave Wilson hit the side netting as Coleshill piled on the pressure but Feckenham rode their luck and defended soundly to take all three points.

Feckenham’s management commented that Coleshill and Grosvenor were by far the best two teams they had played and that they had stole points off the both of them.
