Cracking Draw
By Andy Morris (Westfields)
Westfields drew 2-2 with visiting Coleshill Town when a Marcus Palmer penalty and a wonder strike from Matt Reeve gave Westfields a share of the points.

SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
Coleshill Town had to settle for a point in their table-topping clash with Westfields. Goals from Mitch Piggon and Simeon Cobourne being cancelled out by the home side's Matt Reeve and Marcus Palmer.

Match Report
Coleshill took the lead on 32 minutes when a lapse in concentration by the home team allowed Mitchell Piggon to find space in the box before slotting home. The goal was controversial as the Westfields players and supporters claimed that Benjamin's foot was over the line when taking a throw in. The home team equalised on 41 minutes when Degwon Eubanks was taken down to win a penalty before Palmer stroked the ball into the corner. Coleshill had a great opportunity early in the second half to regain the lead when they were awarded a penalty but Matt Gwynne made an excellent low save from Shane Benjamin's spot kick. This is the first penalty the prolific striker has missed for Coleshill. Within two minutes it was Westfields that took the lead when Matt Reeve sent a right foot thunderbolt nestling into the bottom corner. The visitors keeper Chris Jay didn't move. The game looked safe for Fields but on 82 minutes Super Sub Simeon Cobourne found space in the box before rolling the ball under Gwynne to earn a hard fought but well deserved point.
