Match Report

Continental Star are having a difficult season! They are only goal difference from the bottom of the league but after a disastrous start, they have picked up of late. Their last two results have been a 4-1 win over Shepshed and a narrow 1-0 defeat to Alvechurch. In Anthony Robinson and Allando Davis, both ex Coleshill players, they have the fire power to get out of their tricky position and they made Coleshill work really hard for the points as you would expect from any Star side.
Star started well on a really windy afternoon at Pack Meadow and Robinson nearly scored with a header at the near post that hit the side netting. Coleshill replied with a left foot shot from Danny Tymon that Star keeper Robert Dolman did well to turn away at full stretch. Two Town back passes were almost pounced on by first Robinson then Davis but Coleshill took the lead on 26 minutes when Ryan Nash burst forward, fed Matt Brown who toe poked beyond the advancing keeper to leave Jaz Luckie to side foot home. Luckie then hit the bar with a powerful header at the far post as Coleshill found their rhythm. Brown was denied twice by first the keeper then Josh O'Garry when on the end of through balls but Star stuck to the task and hit back although Coleshill's defence stood firm.

Chris Lloyd came on for Dean Rathbone for the start of the second half and his direct play and pace caused all sorts of problems for the Star defence. Lloyds cross was met by Brown but Dolman saved well then another Lloyd cross fell to Luckie who turned and shot in the same move, his effort hitting the roof of the net for 2-0 54 minutes. Robinson nipped in between Hathaway and Hullin to toe poke an effort just wide of Town's goal. Dan Holgate replaced Nash and with his first touch he forced the ball home against his former club. The wind held the ball up, Holgate pressurised both defender and keeper and somehow the ball crossed the line, 3-0, still 15 minutes to play. Coleshill had a real let off when a Robinson shot was parried by Hathaway and under pressure the ball was hacked off the goal line. Star keeper Dolman then had an incredible 10 minutes when whatever Coleshill threw at him he thwarted. Tymon was denied by Dolman then the post, Holgate, Lloyd, Kirby and Luckie all brought out fine saves from the visitors keeper as Coleshill pilled on the pressure but they had to settle for an impressive 3-0 win.
