MATCH REPORT
SATURDAY 25th OCTOBER 2003
MIDLAND COMBINATION PREMEIR
BROCTON 0 v 0 COLESHILL TOWN

Coleshill finally got their first clean sheet of the season when they made their first ever trip to Brocton. The home team have previously been plying their trade in the Staffordshire Senior League and after deciding to move to the Mid Com, they were placed in the Prem as they are both on Level 6 of the Non League pyramid. The facilities and hospitality were excellent and if they can get it right on the pitch Brocton will prove to be an asset to the league. Brocton have had as difficult a start as Coleshill, having won only twice and lay just two places and two points above their visitors. Those statistics proved spot on as the evenly matched sides played out a drab 0-0 draw with little action of note.

Coleshill were due to play two new signings from Bolehall Swifts but an administration mix up meant the players were not signed in time and were left kicking their heels.

Both teams did carve out chances in the first half but neither looked capable of breaking the dead lock. Danny Moseley in the Coleshill goal made a couple of good stops as did the home keeper. Steve Lees had to leave the field due to a serious head injury and when Craig Davies was sent off for serious foul play on 71 minutes it looked as though Brocton would go on to collect all three points but Coleshill dug in and created the best chance of the game when substitute Danny Carter found Mitchell Thompson in front of goal only for the midfielder to screw his shot over the bar.

Team:- Danny Moseley, Gary Falconbridge, Chris Gee, Scott Wilson, Steve Lees (Brendon Shilton), Tony Gormley, Danny Nixon, Jamie Cartwright, Craig Davies, Kenny Howell (Danny Carter), Mitchell Thompson. Sub not used. Scott Gormley.
