SUNDAY MERCURY WROTE
TIPTON'S TASTY BATE PUNISHES COLESHILL
A Dave Bale goal handed Tipton Town victory over Coleshill Town, a result that took them three points clear at the top.
He found the net on 39mins firing home from close range after Marcus Jackson's cross caused problems. Tipton almost doubled their lead six minutes from time when John Hill got on the end of a corner but his glancing header grazed the bar.
Coleshill's best chance came a minute from time when Chris Gumery pounced on the ball but his shot was smothered by Matt Sergeant.

COLESHILL HERALD WROTE
GUMERY JUST OUT OF LUCK AS COLESHILL WIN ONE, LOSE ONE.
Coleshill produced a battling show before being edged out by the league leaders on Saturday.
Dave Bate notched the only goal of the game for Tipton six minutes before the interval.
Coleshill started brightly and flashed a couple of dangerous balls across the Tipton box in the opening exchanges.
Michael William had the first chance of the game when he got on the end of Jason Ramsey's flick on but poked his shot the wrong side of the post.
Tipton responded well and Danny Campbell angled his header over the top.
Strike partner Josef Jakab went even closer when he got on the end of an excellent Marcus Jackson free-kick but Coleshill's keeper Ian Kimberley did well to save.
A fine save, this time from home keeper Matt Sargeant, kept the scores level on the half hour mark as he denied Chris Gumery.
Bate then converted from close range to give the home side the crucial lead going into the second half.
The match remained tight with little to choose between the sides.
Danny Bragoli sent a shot wide for the home side and Jakab cleared the goal from distance.
Coleshill threw everything forward for a late equaliser and Gumery went close to getting it but was foiled by an excellent save by Sargeant.

N.B.
This is the sixth time the teams have met since Coleshill's promotion in 2008 and Tipton have won all six, but this one did sound as though it was very close. Well done Coleshill.
