Coleshill Town boss Casey ready for proud day

Writes the Coleshill Herald

COLESHILL Town boss Paul Casey says Saturday will be an incredible moment as he picks up the runners-up trophy for finishing second in the Midland Premier League.

Casey and his players will collect the trophy after the home clash with Coventry Sphinx on Saturday (kick off 3pm).

And Casey said: "My lads are real superstars and they have absolutely worked their socks off this season.

"So for them to collect this trophy will be fantastic, it really will.

"It will be an amazing day for me and the players. I will be very proud."

Casey has enjoyed a hugely successful two years at the Coleshill after rescuing them from the threat of relegation during the 2013-14 campaign.

"I took over a team who were second from bottom of the league table and now we are at this point where we have finished runners-up to a team (Basford) with an incredible budget. I remember when I came in, I couldn't get players to sign for me for love nor money. To think how far we have come in a short space of time is amazing really."
