WE MEET AGAIN - QUORN

Coleshill played Quorn 11 times over a period of Five years when they were together in the Midland Alliance, later to become Midland Football League Premier, but this will be the first time the two sides have met at this level.

I hadn't realised until I did the research that Quorn had been at Level 4 before, 2007-2011. I do remember it is a very nice ground. Their greatest claim to fame is the selling of Luke Varney to Crewe Alexander, and then onto Charlton Athletic, the club gaining half a mill in the process and also naming Dion Dublin as a former player.

Quorn are new to the League this season having gained promotion last season due to finishing second in the UCL Premier North and then a long journey to the Essex coast saw Quorn triumph 5-0 away to Great Wakering Rovers in the inter-step playoff. What an Away Day that must have been! They have started their season with W3 D2 L1 and currently lie in 4th Place with 11 points from their 6 games so far and had a fine 4-0 win last week against Coventry Sphinx in the FA Trophy.
