Shifnal Town 5 v 1 Coleshill Town

Postby Alan Beckett » Mon Feb 27, 2006 7:18 pm

Saturday 28th January 2006
Midland Combination Premier Division
Shifnal Town 5 v 1 Coleshill Town
Scorer: Kevin Wagstaff.

Coleshill slipped back into their old poor defensive habits as they suffered a heavy defeat at Shifnal. Sloppy defending and individual mistakes meant the game was over by half time as Coleshill trailed 4-1. The only bright moment of a dreadful first period was a superb goal from Kevin Wagstaff. Coleshill manager Mick Beadle made alterations at half time and Coleshill did produce a better performance in the second period. "The game was over by then," Beadle said. "We thought we had sorted out the defensive side of our game but I guess we had a relapse. The Shifnal pitch is probably the best in the division and really suited us but we can't afford to defend like we did and hope to get away with it. It was a poor performance and we have to put it right this week against Continental Star."

Team: Miles Millington-Day, Sam Chatwin, Des Wilkes, Simon Bradbury, Sean Burrell (Danny Carter), Josh McPherson, Danny Greaves (Jamie Shipway), Rob Ellis, James Dance, David Brush, Kevin Wagstaff. Sub not used Carl Smith
