MATCH REPORT
Before a ball was kicked for the 2026-27 season both of these teams were expected to be up there chasing for promotion, but both sides have got off to a bad start. Carlton won their opening game against St Ives but have lost to Boldmere St Michaels, 0-5, and Nuneaton Town, 0-2. Coleshill have yet to score in a defeat to Bedworth United 0-1, and a draw at Rushden & Diamonds 0-0. It was a tough battle from the start but not a lot of football as the ball was in the air a lot. In the first half neither keeper had much to do. Carlton upped the anti scoreing early in the second half thru Jason Law and had further chances to increase their lead. Coleshill finally came to life late in the game and had chances to equalise, and maybe even win the contest but some desperate defending, poor finishing and excellent goalkeeping, Carlton kept the visitors out. With minutes to go, and Coleshill pushing for something from the game, goalkeeper Cameron Belford was caught well up the pitch and when Carlton broke clear Belford floored his man and saw a RED card. One point, no goals from three games is not what Coleshill expected but they have a chance to kick-start their season this Saturday as they entertain Knowle in the F.A.Cup.
