CASTLE BROMWICH NEWS WROTE
Town Get Another Chance

Playing their third game in five days Coleshill Town visited Knowle last Thursday for the third round replay of the Midland Combination Challenge Cup, but the game was abandoned seven minutes from the end of extra time, owing to bad light, with Coleshill trailing 3-2. Coleshill opened the scoring in the 22nd minute through centre forward Myatt. The goal came after Knowle had failed to clear a cross from Holland; the ball was played out to Griffin, whose shot was deflected by Moseley into the path of Myatt, who made no mistake with a first time shot. In the 32nd minute, with Dolphin down injured, Knowle equalised when a good cross from ex-Coleshill full back Wootton was converted by Seeley. During the interval Dolphin was substituted by Grant and Knowle started the second half showing far more aggression. But it was Coleshill who regained the lead through Griffin in the 65th minute, following fine work on the right by the lively Holland. Again Coleshill's lead was short lived as Ward broke through their defence to level matters. In the first period of extra time Knowle jumped in front with another goal from Seeley, but Coleshill hit back to apply heavy pressure. It was with Coleshill surging forward that the referee decided that the light was too bad to continue and now Coleshill face another visit to Knowle.
