CASTLE BROMWICH NEWS WROTE
Another Draw For Coleshill

Coleshill travelled for the second of three successive away matches and brought back a point from fog-bound Cinderford. Manager Mervyn Parsons introduced new signings Dave Giedd in goal and Tim Holland at right back. Other changes caused by non-availability of players Eddie Stewart into attack and Parsons himself into midfield. Fog shrouded the ground and it was difficult to see the full length of the pitch. Early exchanges were even until Steve Whipps combined well with Holland to hit a strong volley, which was deflected for a corner. Griffin then broke clear to try a cross-shot which was hastily cleared by Cinderford as Whipps approached the goal. Giedd produced some safe handling, cutting out crosses from both Cinderford wingers, but Coleshill looked the more dangerous and near half time Griffin shot wide after the Cinderford keeper had fumbled a back pass. Coleshill opened strongly in the second half attacking down the slope. Griffin and Whipps were to the fore in enterprising raids. From a corner taken by Allen the ball appeared to curl over the line, but the referee turned down appeals for a goal. After this escape Cinderford pushed Coleshill onto the defensive and only strong midfield running and timely clearances by the back four kept Coleshill’s goal intact. After the match manager Parsons said: “This was another promising Coleshill performance and once the scoring chances are taken regularly we will quickly climb up the table.” This Saturday Coleshill visit Highgate United at Tythe Barn Lane, kick off 2.15 pm. (Coleshill travelled to Walsall Sportsco that Saturday and not Highgate, don’t know why)
