CASTLE BROMWICH NEWS WROTE
Coleshill’s visit to Walsall Wood in midweek ended disappointingly. Coleshill opened strongly and Gibbons forced a fine save from the home keeper and in their next raid Griffin headed just wide from a cross by Hall. Colin Sarson making his debut at right back, kept a tight grip on Wood’s reprisal raids and also found time to hit some fine passes forward to wingers Whipps and Griffin. But Coleshill slipped badly on the half hour, when poor marking from a free kick led to Wood taking the lead. Coleshill replied with three successive corners and missed a clear chance to level matters. A free kick by Parsons eluded Wood’s defence, but there was no-one on hand to apply the finishing touch. Gibbons did equalise however, scoring from a cross by Parsons, after a neat move involving Hall. The second half saw both sides create and miss chances, before Walsall Wood sealed the verdict with an 80th minute goal to deny Coleshill a point they really deserved.
