CASTLE BROMWICH NEWS WROTE
COLESHILL END ON A LOW NOTE

Coleshill went down at Home in their last game of the season to new Midland Combination champions Bridgnorth. But up until half time it was anybody's game with Coleshill holding their visitors and defending well. But three goals in a six minute spell just after the interval changed the whole game. Minutes after half time full back Burrows gave away a corner and Francis beat Coleshill goalkeeper Raybould in the air to head Bridgnorth in front. Burrows then went off and with Dawkins coming on as sub, Coleshill changed to a 3-3-4 formation looking for the equaliser. But the move proved a disaster as Bridgnorth came roaring back to go two up when Francis scored his second from a scramble. Bridgnorth went three up when their centre forward netted with a shot which Raybould got his fingers to but failed to claw away. Coleshill fought back well against the new champions and George Ketterick crossed for Nardiello to pull back a goal. As Coleshill worked hard up front Bridgnorth keeper Ball had to pull off some good saves. So Coleshill's season comes to a rather disappointing end. Manager David Kite was looking to better things after a recent run which saw his side take 10 from 14 points, but the last six games have yielded only two points. "Our main problem is that we haven't hit the net regularly enough." said Kite. "I have tried experiments with new players to work alongside Paul Montague but for the most part he has had a lone battle all season." The manager said Harry Burrows had probably been the most consistent player, showing determination as he played in every fixture since August.

Bridgnorth Roar In To Take Title

A fine victory at Coleshill, where they won 3-1, made sure of the Midland Combination championship for Bridgnorth.
