MATCH REPORT
COLESHILL “JUST” MISS OUT ON PROMOTION PUSH!

Coleshill Town FC finished the League season in a play off place! A 5th place meant the highest position in the Non League pyramid system in the club’s 138 year history! A fabulous achievement, but could they go one better! The way the play offs worked meant Coleshill had to play 2nd placed Halesowen Town, Away from home! In the two league encounters Coleshill won 3-2 at Home but lost 2-0 Away, so a very evenly matched game was expected. In front of a crowd of 2334, a healthy Coleshill contingent but they were massively outnumbered, the home side were gifted a goal in just three minutes and then the referee awarded a very dubious penalty and with less than twenty minutes gone they were 2-0 down. Ewan Williams pulled a goal back before half time. It was a much more even second half but Halesowen secured the win with a third goal in the dying minutes.

Town manager Cameron Stuart has worked wonders with his squad for little old Coleshill and was disappointed at the result but immediately signed up for another season and is now planning to go a step further and gain promotion to Step 3 on the Non League ladder, an achievement not even considered a few years ago.
