MATCH REPORT
By Andrew Buck

Coleshill came up short against a well drilled Halesowen Town but the scoreline doesn’t tell the full story!

It was backs against the wall from kick off for Coleshill as Halesowen came out of the blocks first and after a shot by Rob Evans (former Coleman) from 20 yards which was too hot for Paul Hathaway to hold onto resulted in Richard Gregory, (ex Coleman who scores every time he plays against Coleshill, he was injured for the return game) tapping in for Halesowen to take the lead on 8 minutes. Shortly after Gregory hit the bar from a long range free kick. Coleshill slowly came more into the game and forced Halesowen keeper Platt into a save which he tipped over the bar. Towards the end of the half Coleshill played some nice football and had nice build up play but couldn’t capitalise on their dominance.

Half time 0-1

Halesowen's large following support quietened down in the second half as Coleshill pushed for at least an equaliser that their play deserved. George Washborne came on for the last fifteen minutes and the fresh legs opened the game up even further with Coleshill having several chances the best of which were Gio Dainty in front of goal just about to put the ball in the net when Rob Evans managed to take the ball off his foot and a volley from Kai Tonge from the edge of the six yard box that visiting keeper Daniel Platt flung himself full length to his left to punch the ball away and effectively secure the points. On 90 minutes Josh Willis was shown a second yellow card and had to go for an early shower.

Coleshill were unlucky not to get something out of the game after creating the chances but were unable to convert them.
