Coleshill started the game well but were rocked back when Bedworth scored with their first attack. The pacy right winger Sawyers did well to get past Town captain Taylor Byrne and crossed into the box for the onrushing Blythe who seemed to have overun the cross but somehow managed to get his effort on goal and keeper Paul Hathaway got a hand to it but couldn't keep it from crossing the line. Just three minutes on the clock! The game was a bad tempered affair with several players been shown yellow cards. One of those was Kieran Donnelly and when he challenged the right full back who went down in a heap, a second yellow meant he was off! Coleshill now had a mountain to climb. It was almost 2-0 just before the interval but a header from Parrott was clawed off the line by the diving Hathaway. Despite being a man down Coleshill made a real go of it in the second half although that left them open at times to break aways. Kai Tonge ran clear of the home defence and into the box but dragged his shot wide. Gio Dainty went down in the box for what looked like a clear penalty but play was waved on until the ball reached Coleshill's 18 yard box and then a free kick was given. Nesbitt's fine run into the box was brought to an end by Hathaway who dove at the strikers feet. Former Town striker Luke Keen hit the post with an effort from distance and a Taylor Byrne header was almost forced home by Alex Tomkinson but a mass scramble just managed to clear the danger. With time running out keeper Hathaway came up for a corner and from a clearance Camwell tried to score from distance but his effort went over the bar.
Coleshill managed to hold on to a play off place but the pack below are closing the gap, including Bedworth. The Colemen were not at their best but still could have salvaged a point with a battling second half display. They have a much better chance of picking up points if they could just keep eleven men on the field.
