THE NON LEAGUE PAPER WROTE
Tonge Sets Coleshill On Their Way

With Coleshill three up at half time you think it was all one way but Wisbech contributed to a very entertaining game. Coleshill took the lead on 22 minutes from the penalty spot. Liam Molesworth was brought down in the box and Kai Tonge converted. It was 2-0 just before the half hour mark when Liam Molesworth's cross found Sam Moore who headed back across goal and into the far corner. Coleshill made it three just before the break as Kieran Donnelly was quickly on to a loose ball in the box and his powerful shot went under the keeper.
Wisbech enjoyed the majority of possession in the second half and deservedly pulled a goal back after 55 minutes with a fine finish from Dylan Edge from inside the box.

A View From The Other Side
A match report from Wisbech Town

First report by "Our Travelling Scribe"

The Fenmen started the game brightly with Posh youngster Theo Lukyamuzi causing Coleshill problems with speed and tricky ball skills on the Wisbech left.

It was Theo who came closest to opening the scoring with a curling shot from outside the box which was saved by the home keeper but the ball fell to Dylan Edge whose shot on goal was blocked by the head of a Coleshill defender.

Coleshill gradually became the greater threat going forward and wasted a couple of chances before a driving run on their right into the Wisbech penalty box led to The Fenmen conceding a penalty which was confidently dispatched to make it 1-0

Coleshill continued to have the better of the game and a cross from their right to the far post was headed home unchallenged.

Just before half time Coleshill got a third when a long throw evaded all players except an unmarked Coleshill player who put the ball into the bottom far corner.

Half Time: Coleshill Town 3 Wisbech Town 0

The second half began with Theo being replaced by Tom Mcleish, which was a formation change rather than a reflection on Theo’s performance. The second half was a more even affair with both sides having opportunities to score. Coleshill hit the post direct from a free kick which they protested had crossed the line while the Fenmen had a good penalty appeal turned down. As it was, the only goal of the second half was scored by Dylan Edge after playing a one-two with Sam Bennett inside the Coleshill box.

The Fenmen worked hard to find a way back into the game and had a penalty shout turned down when Aaron Hart was tackled as he ran into the area.

In the dying minutes of the game Emmanuel Osilaja was on the receiving end of a tackle and some, shall we say, rough treatment which was fortunate not to result in a red card for Coleshill.

To pick out one player as our man of the match would be wrong when everyone put in a good shift. It was good to see Joe Gascoigne make his long-awaited debut on loan from King's Lynn Town having recovered from the effects of Covid.

With two big games over the Christmas period it’s crucial Brett has a full squad available and the Fenmen faithful turn out in good number to get behind the team.
