NON LEAGUE PAPER WROTE
MADD WORLD FOR MILLERS

Goals in each half saw Carlton Town move above Coleshill Town with a win at the Bill Stokeld Stadium. In a game played in pouring rain throughout, both sides finished with 10 men following late Red cards. Carlton's Daniel Fletcher had the first attempt of the game when his deep cross caused Paul Hathaway in the visitors goal some anxiety. But Coleshill had the better of the first half, with Fletcher clearing off the line from Sam Moore and then blocking an effort from the impressive Kai Tongue. Millers goalkeeper Kieran Preston then made a superb save from Joe Phillips. It was Carlton who opened the scoring against the run of play when Kieran Knight, making his home debut, controlled a Louis Czerwak pass and held off Niall Rowe before slipping the ball past Paul Hathaway. The Millers doubled their lead from a Tom Maddison penalty after Blake was fouled but substitute George Washbourne pulled one back almost immediately with a neat finish. Coleshill continued to press but the Carlton defence, marshalled by Dan Brown and Deon Meikle, saw off the threat comfortably. With four minutes remaining Kieran Donnelly was sent off for the visitors for something he said, while Maikle was also sent off for a second yellow card.

MATCH REPORT
Second versus third in the table promised to be a cracker but as it turned out Coleshill lost a game that they almost entirely dominated and came back with comments from the home side of "Classy Coleshill" and "the best side we have played this season"!
Coleshill could and should have been three or four goals up at the break but found themselves 1-0 down to a rare home effort from forward Kieran Knight. The Colemen's luck didn't change in the second half as the referee awarded a dubious penalty and Maddison scored from the spot kick to increase the home sides lead. Coleshill's appeals for their own penalty went unheard in a very similar situation and Kieran Donnelly was shown a straight Red card for an incident that Coleshill will almost certainly contest. In between George Washbourne scored a fine goal, his first of the season, but Coleshill couldn't find that extra edge that would have given them a point or even three that their build up play deserved.
Two back to back defeats have knocked Coleshill down to 5th in the table but if they can continue to perform like this the goals will come eventually.
